The U.S. Department of Agriculture's U.S. Forest Service unit - Wallowa-Whitman National Forest - issued the following press release:
The Jim Creek Fire is expected to be contained by mid morning today. Cooler temperatures and higher relative humidities helped with firefighting efforts. The Blue Mountain Interagency Fire Team will transition the fire to a local Type 3 organization at 7:00 p.m. tonight. The Type 3 organization along with needed resources will continue to monitor the fire for any smokes.
