The Deal: Oracle Corporation has agreed to acquire MetaSolv inc. for $4.10 per share, or about 4219.2 million, in cash. The transaction, which requires shareholder and regulatory approvals, is expected to close in late 2006 or early 2007.

Discussion: MetaSolv provides operations support system software to communications providers and corporations. MetaSolv applications are used to to manage networks and services. Company products include applications for customer management, inventory control, troubleshooting, and network planning.
