NEW DELHI, India, Dec 17 -- Sheila Dikshit has created a record of sorts by completing eight years in office as Delhi chief minister. In the last eight years, various development projects were implemented. For example, the Capital now has many flyovers, a world-class Delhi Metro and better air quality.
On the flip side, the bureaucracy has grown stronger. Delhi perhaps is the only state in the country where the CM writes the annual confidential reports of bureaucrats and not the ministers under whom they serve. In an interview to Amitabh Shukla, she says her greatest achievement was bringing the government closer to the people through the Bhagidari scheme. Excerpts:
