MAYOR DUFFY ANNOUNCES DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING EVENTS, JAN. 10-18

The city of Rochester issued the following press release:

Mayor Robert J. Duffy announced today numerous events to be sponsored by the City's Bureau of Recreation to commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. City recreation/community centers will host events beginning Wed., Jan. 10 through Thurs., Jan. 18. All centers will close on Mon., Jan. 15 to observe Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

"Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was committed to non-violent principles and the highest of ideals," said Mayor Robert Duffy. "The power of his beliefs, his writings and speeches encouraged justice, dignity, and mutual respect for all people. His quest was one that gained him the Nobel Peace Prize. ...
