Article: New Malaysian palm oil joint venture

Four major Malaysian oil palm plantation companies in the state of Sarawak were reported in the September 6 issue of Business Times (Malaysia) to be undertaking the construction of a RM300 million ($82 million) integrated oil and gas and palm oil project in the industrial center of Tanjung Manis. The companies involved in the joint venture (JV) are the Rimbunan Hijau group, Ta Ann Holdings Bhd, Tradewinds Plantations Bhd, and BLD Sdn Bhd. A letter of intent for the project was signed on September 5 with ASSAR Refinery Services Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of ASSAR Senari Group (ASG) and the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corp (STIDC).
