The Florida Department of Environmental Protection issued the following news release:
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection today welcomed The Colony Hotel & Cabana Club to the Florida Green Lodging Program. The facility is the first of Delray Beach's almost 20 hotels to participate in the voluntary state initiative to adopt environmentally-friendly practices that reduce waste and preserve natural resources.
"If just one-quarter of all hotel guests in Florida opted to reuse towels and sheets, the lodging industry would conserve almost 500 million gallons of water each year," said DEP Southeast District Director Kevin Neal. "By providing guests with 'green' alternatives, ...
