The State University of New York at Stony Brook issued the following news release:
Jedan P. Phillips, M.D., Director of Community Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Family Medicine, is the recipient of the 2005 Maffetone Community Service Award for his outreach work with the Witness Project, a breast cancer awareness program for underserved communities. The winner of the 2005 Maffetone Community Service Grant is the Central Islip Civic Council, a community group that provides many human services, including the development of affordable housing.
