It was a bright, breezy September afternoon as 21 Coast Guard Reservists I mustered to receive hard-earned graduation certificates from the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy (MLEA) in Charleston, S.C.
Those individuals, from Coast Guard units across the nation, were the first to finish a new program aimed at helping Reservists complete the rigorous training required to qualify as Maritime Law Enforcement (MLE) Boarding Officers.
