In arc welding with the weaving of the electrode, the characteristic feature is the modulation of welding current and the composition of current contains harmonic components with different frequency, multiplied by the weaving frequency of the electrode. The parameters of these harmonic components provide information on the neutral position of the oscillating electrode and the edges of the welded joint, but quantitative estimates are not available.1
