Article: SINCLAIR TO ESTABLISH SCHOLARSHIP HONORING AREA BLACK AVIATOR

Sinclair Community College issued the following news release:

The late Dr. Lewis A. Jackson, famed Xenia, Ohio aviator, educator and entrepreneur, will be honored with the establishment of a Sinclair Community College scholarship in his name targeted for African American students pursuing careers in aviation. The first major fund raising activity will be a dinner at Sinclair on Friday, February 9.

Keynote speaker for the event will be Chauncey E. Spencer II of Detroit. He is son of Chauncey E. Spencer, the famed American pilot, who along with fellow pilot Dale L. White, helped influence then U.S. Sen. Harry S. Truman, to fight for establishing funding for the training of Black pilots at ...
