Article: German Inventors Develop Hot Bulk Material Cooling Apparatus

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 4 -- Thomas Staak and Archibald Wallace, both of Hamburg, Germany, Helmut Wallis of Henstedt-Ulzburg, Germany, and Hartmut Meyer of Buxtehude, Germany, have developed an apparatus for cooling hot bulk material using a cooling gas at a temperature lower than a temperature of the hot bulk material.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention includes a method and an apparatus for treating, in particular cooling, a layer of bulk material by means of a stream of gas passed through it on a grate.
