More states are revising their practice acts and passing legislation to put the official stamp of approval on giving pharmacists a larger role in drug therapy management for better patient care. Arkansas pharmacists can now administer immunizations to adults and enter into collaborative care agreements with physicians to manage patients' drug therapy, thanks to a new law signed by the governor last month. And those who provide diabetes education qualify for reimbursement by insurance companies under a separate law passed during the same legislative session.
