Article: S.D. DEMOCRATIC PARTY CALLS ON LARRY DIEDRICH TO DONATE MARK FOLEY CAMPAIGN FUNDS

The South Dakota Democratic Party issued the following news release:

Last week, the SDDP called on John Thune to donate the $2,000 he received from ex-US Rep. Mark Foley to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. In response to the SDDP's request, Thune donated his funds on Friday. [KELO TV 10-06-06].

Foley resigned after reports surfaced that he'd sent sexually charged electronic messages to boys working as pages. Foley operates the PAC, Florida Republican Leadership PAC. The South Dakota Democratic Party has learned that in May of 2004, the FRL distributed $1,000 to Larry Diedrich's congressional campaign.
