Auburn University issued the following news release:
Auburn University publicly launched the largest fundraising effort in school history Friday, Feb. 3, with the announcement of the $500 million, "It Begins at Auburn" campaign. The event took place at John H. Watson Field House on Auburn's campus.
The celebration gathered 500 prominent alumni and friends for the announcement that Auburn has already raised $332.4 million, or 66 percent, of its campaign goal.
