Article: Building collapse: Expedite rescue operation, says HC

NEW DELHI, India, Jan 13 -- TAKING A serious note of the collapse of a multi-storey building at Civil Lines, Allahabad and alleged slow pace of rescue operation, the Allahabad High Court on Saturday directed the district administration of Allahabad, namely divisional commissioner, district magistrate, ADA vice-chairman, Nagar Ayukt and Nagar Nigam who were at present executing rescue operation at the site, to expedite the same.

"The rescue operation shall not be slowed down under any pressure by any section or group of public. Operation must be carried on, which is required, to ensure that the site is cleared at the earliest", the court directed.
