The office of Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., issued the following press release:
Sen. Mark Pryor today announced he was pleased that the Senate was able to break through a difficult stalemate and pass meaningful lobbying and ethics legislation. The bipartisan package was assigned the number S.1 to signify the high priority it carries in the 110th Congress and the new Democratic majority.
The Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act will ban gifts and travel paid for by lobbyists and organizations that employ lobbyists, extend the ban on lobbying by former Members of Congress to two years, ban the spouse of a Member from lobbying other Members, require lobbyists to provide more information ...
