Visakhapatnam, Jan 20 -- Scientists in Visakhapatanam have evolved a process for creating jaggery in crystal form, paving the way for the manufacture of indigenous sugar.

It's been a long standing demand of the farmers in Visakhapatanam, a place also known for jaggery that their produce doesn't return them good revenue due to lack of good quality and low shelf life. The general belief puts the blame on its hygroscopic nature (or, readily absorbing moisture, as from the atmosphere).
