Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Conn. (4th CD), issued the following press release:
Rep. Christopher Shays (R-CT) today applauded the passage of H.R. 6, Creating Long-Term Energy Alternatives for the Nation (CLEAN) Energy Act, which repeals subsidies to large oil and gas companies. Shays is a cosponsor of H.R. 6, which passed by a vote of 264 to 123.
"We do not need to incentivize drilling for oil; we need to incentivize energy efficiency and conservation. My bill, the Energy for Our Future Act, does just that and I am pleased the House passed a similar measure," Shays said.
