Article: GOV. BLAGOJEVICH ANNOUNCES MORE THAN $40,000 TO ENCOURAGE MORE INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL TO QUAD CITIES

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity issued the following news release:

Continuing to deliver on his commitment to grow the tourism industry and create more good jobs in the Quad Cities, Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich announced today a $40,625 International Tourism Grant, which is being administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's (DCEO) Bureau of Tourism. The grant, which is being awarded to the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), will be used to develop, coordinate and promote international tourism to the Quad Cities. Since 2003, the Governor has invested nearly $150,000 to encourage more international travel to the area.
