Article: Indian scientists back manned mission moon

Bangalore, Nov 7 -- The ambitious plans of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to launch manned missions into space and to moon were endorsed by top scientists and technologists Tuesday, a space agency official said here.

"There was a good response. The scientific community has agreed to fully support our endeavour to launch manned missions into space and subsequently to moon. We discussed action items such as safety and security," ISRO chairman G. Madhavan Nair told IANS after a meeting of experts here.
