When International Speedway Corp. announced its decision to scrap plans to build a racetrack on Staten Island, the response was overwhelmingly positive from residents of the borough and race fans alike.
Let's face it: Except for its proximity to the Manhattan skyline, the site never made sense for a variety of reasons.
