ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 29 -- Takehiro Kamigama and Chi Hung Yuen, both of Kowloon, Hong Kong, Jeffery L. Wang of Tai Po, Hong Kong, and Kai Wu of Dongguan City, Hong Kong, have developed a system and a method for an improved magnetic head arm assembly (HAA).
According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The HAA includes three principal components, a head gimbal assembly, a flexible printed circuit assembly, and an actuator coil assembly. The design allows for HAA rigidity, yet each of the components is designable and manufacturable independent of one another, in addition to other advantages over current methods."
The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,165,314 on Jan. 23.
