The City University of New York issued the following news release:
Elinor Tatum, Editor-in-Chief of the NEW YORK AMSTERDAM NEWS will address Bronx Community College's Freshman Convocation in the Gould Memorial Library Auditorium, Thursday, February, 1, 2007, 12:15 - 2:00 p.m. The FREE EVENT is open to the public. Bronx Community College is located at West 181st Street and University Avenue.
The AMSTERDAM NEWS began as a four-page newspaper almost 100 years ago on December 4th, 1909, with James Anderson investing an initial capital of $10,000 using his wife's 5 x 4 - foot dressmaker's table in the basement of his home for the first publication.
