WASHINGTON, Jan. 24 - South Dakota Education Secretary Rick Melmer has told the legislature that improving education for the state's American Indian students will take some time. "It's a huge undertaking. I know we didn't get here overnight, and we aren't going to get out of it overnight," the Associated Press quoted Melmer as saying.
