The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund issued the following news release:

Today, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) condemned the Bush Administration's plan to increase the cost of citizenship applications and other fees by 66 percent. MALDEF strongly urges Congress to exercise its oversight powers and find alternative ways to improve and fund the growing immigration bureaucracy.
