Article: Sen. Cantwell Introduces Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act

WASHINGTON, Feb. 3 -- Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Washington, has introduced the Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act of 2007 (S. 261), legislation that would "amend title 18, U.S. Code, to strengthen prohibitions against animal fighting."

The bill, introduced on Jan. 11, was co-sponsored by Sens. John Ensign, R-Nevada; Arlen Specter, R-Pennsylvania; Dick Durbin, D-Illinois; Wayne Allard, R-Colorado; David Vitter, R-Louisiana; Carl Levin, D-Michigan; Susan Collins, R-Maine; Jon Kyl, R-Arizona; and Dianne Feinstein, D-California. It was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
