South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford has appointed Caroline C. Rhodes of Charleston to represent the state's First Congressional District on the S.C. Natural Resources Board, the policy making body of the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.

Rhodes and her husband, Dr. Malcolm M. Rhodes, are owners of The Charleston Angler, a saltwater fishing, outdoor apparel and fly-tackle shop located in Charleston. Rhodes grew up in Columbia and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
