The Indianapolis City-County Council issued the following press release:
Today, President Monroe Gray congratulated Tony Dungy and the entire Indianapolis Colts organization for reaching the pinnacle of professional football, a Super Bowl Championship.
President Gray said, "Again, this team provided a reason for the fans to jump to their feet, cheer out loud, and celebrate. Congratulations to Tony Dungy for being the first African-American Coach to win a Super Bowl. Congratulations to Peyton Manning for being voted Most Valuable Player.
