Article: Rumson-Fair Haven stymies Holy Spirit

LINWOOD - The Holy Spirit High School girls basketball team learned some serious lessons Sunday afternoon.

The Spartans played Shore Conference standout Rumson-Fair Haven in a Future Stars Basketball Camps Shootout at the Shore game at Mainland Regional to a near sold-out crowd.

Holy Spirit, the fifth-ranked team in The Press' Elite 11, tried to play its game, which is a balance of strong perimeter shooting, consistent inside scoring and pressure defense.

Rumson, however, didn't let that happen.

The Bulldogs (17-3) played three strong quarters of basketball to defeat Holy Spirit 39-26. It was probably one of the more lopsided games the Spartans have played this season.
