How much time you take between sets is key to achieving your training goals
ONE TRAINING QUESTION that I'm still asked on a regular basis is, "How long should I rest between sets?" Unfortunately, my answer is almost always, "Well, it depends. What do you want to accomplish? Do you want to add strength? Size? Endurance?"
I'll sum it up like this: The heavier you train (which translates to a lower rep regimen), the longer you should rest; the lighter you train, the less you should rest. Therefore, if you're training to get stronger, doing sets of 1-6 reps, you should take maximum rest periods - up to three minutes.
