Article: RENO FIRE DEPARTMENT MEDICAL CALLS PART OF TIERED SYSTEM

The city of Reno issued the following news release:

Reno firefighters responded to 24,239 emergency medical calls during 2006 to assist area residents and visitors with a wide range of injuries and or medical conditions. Wednesday, the Reno City Council approved a $49,101.38 bid for emergency medical supplies for the fire department that will be split between two medical supply companies.

Bids were sought from 10 vendors for emergency medical supplies such as bandages, airways, endoctracheal tubes, immobilization neck collars, splints, infectious control kits, emergency blankets and infant wraps, gloves, eye wash, burn dressings and other medical supplies.
