The Chicago Fire Department issued the following news release:

Mayor Richard M. Daley and the Chicago Fire Department today unveiled new state-of-the-art equipment that will improve firefighting, communications and emergency life support services.

"We're making these investments because we refuse to compromise when it comes to protecting the heath and safety of the people of Chicago," Daley said following an address to a graduating class 46 Firefighter/EMT candidates at Navy Pier.
