Article: Japanese Inventor Develops Front Panel Fitting Apparatus

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 21 -- Takashi Miyamoto of Osaka, Japan, has developed a front panel fitting apparatus that is capable of fitting and removing a front panel quickly and easily with a small force.

An abstract of the invention, released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, said: "A pair of left and right leg parts provided on the underside of a front panel have respectively: leg bottom plates formed integrally with the front panel and extending to under a bottom chassis; and leg edge plates formed integrally with the respective leg bottom plates from the front edge through the both side edges thereof, a pair of slits being formed at a predetermined spacing forward from the central ...
