WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 -- Rep. Chris Smith, R-New Jersey, has introduced the Veterans Health Care Full Funding Act (H.R. 1041), legislation that would "amend title 38, U.S. Code, to provide an enhanced funding process to ensure an adequate level of funding for veterans health care programs of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), to establish standards of access to care for veterans seeking health care from the VA."
The bill, introduced on Feb. 14, was co-sponsored by Reps. Jim Saxton, R-New Jersey; Frank A. LoBiondo, R-New Jersey; Michael McCaul, D-Texas; and Bill Delahunt, D-Massachusetts. It was referred to the House Veterans' Affairs Committee.
