Possibly the lowest profile technology within the Sandvik Mining and Construction brand is the materials handling equipment and engineering suite. Nevertheless, this business prospered in 2006, helped by booming demand in the energy sector and by the late-2005 integration into Sandvik Materials Handling Africa (SMHA) of ETS (Exclusive Technical Services), a Johannesburg, South Africa-based company with which Sandvik had cooperated on several materials handling projects in the past five years.
