Citibank takes top honors in Global Finance's fourth annual emerging markets competition, which for the first time focuses on the banks themselves, instead of the top people or teams at the banks. Best emerging markets bank in the world, Citibank also ranks first in Latin America, and holds the top spot in six other categories. ING Barings comes in second, ranked best in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. It has five other first-place finishes, three of them in equity research-in Africa, Eastern and Central Europe, and Latin America.
