WASHINGTON, Mar. 6 -- Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, D-Texas, has introduced a bill (H.R. 1240) to "direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish a scholarship program for students seeking a degree or certificate in the areas of visual impairment and orientation and mobility."

The bill, introduced on Feb. 28, was co-sponsored by Reps. Tom Lantos, D-California, and Elijah E. Cummings, D-Maryland. It was referred to the House Veterans' Affairs Committee.
