NEW DELHI, India, March 5 -- Election-wary municipal councillors don't want to let go of the laptops that were issued to them in 2005. On Monday, the MCD cleared a proposal to allow councillors to keep the laptops on the ground that the gadgets have become outdated. Although majority of the municipal councillors do not use the laptops, they were quick to support the proposal that was suggested by councillor Ajit Chaudhury.
"The laptops have now become outdated and have little value as the markets are now flooded with latest models. Moreover, all our personal and official data is stored in these laptops and we will face problems if we were to surrender these laptops now. We should be allowed ...
