Christmas is everywhere. It's at Starbucks, invading my morning coffee with gingerbread. It's on my television, with ads telling me to buy my boyfriend a power tool and telling him to buy me jewelry. It's in my house, with my 4-year-old sister begging for the over-hyped seven millionth version of "Tickle Me Elmo." I used to love the holidays. I like getting presents and I like the Rockefeller Center tree.

But I don't want my coffee with gingerbread (especially if said gingerbread means a price markup of 75 cents or so). My boyfriend doesn't fix things and I'm into picking my own jewelry. And my sister? As soon as we get her "Tickle Me Elmo" she'll ...
