WASHINGTON, March 9 -- Rep. John F. Tierney, D-Massachusetts, has introduced the Emergency Retiree Health Benefits Protection Act of 2007 (H.R. 1322), legislation that would "amend title I of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 to provide emergency protection for retiree health benefits."
The bill, introduced on March 5, was co-sponsored by 39 representatives. It was referred to the House Education and Labor Committee and House Budget Committee.
