Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, D-La., issued the following press release:
On Friday, March 2, 2007, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu will announce two new programs for the Atchafalaya Heritage Area, a 14-parish region surrounding the Atchafalaya Basin. The Atchafalaya Heritage Tax Credit Program will serve as a financial incentive for the growth of heritage- and culture-based businesses in the area that are normally excluded from traditional economic development programs. The tax credit program is directed at small businesses with fewer than 20 employees that make use of the natural, cultural and historic assets of the Heritage Area.
