Rep. Baron Hill, D-Ind. (9th CD), has issued the following news release:
Rep. Baron Hill voted today for a bill, H.R., 569, which authorizes $1.8 billion over five years in the form of grants to communities seeking to improve their water quality and control sewer overflow. The Water Quality Reinvestment Act of 2007 passed by a vote of 367 to 58 by the House of Representatives this afternoon.
"There are several cities in the 9th District that are experiencing serious problems with overworked sewer systems--Columbus, Huntingburg, Milltown, North Vernon, Paoli, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Seymour, Charlestown, Rockport, and Tell City are all experiencing such overflow problems," Hill said. ...
