Article: SCHOOL BOARD POISED TO INCLUDE NON-VOTING STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES

The town of Cape Elizabeth issued the following news release:

If all goes according to plan, the School Board may have two High School student representatives added to their membership by the fall.

The board is considering a new policy, and associated guidelines, for having representatives from the High School join the board as non-voting members each school year.

The draft policy was presented to the board March 13, with a second reading and adoption expected in April.

The representatives would serve in a non-voting capacity and be nominated and elected by the student body, excluding seniors, in the spring for the following school year.
