Article: Taiwanese Inventor Develops Binary Number Conversion Apparatus

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- Peng-Hua Wang of Chang Hua, Taiwan, has developed a method and an apparatus for binary number conversion.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The method and apparatus use two inequalities to determine whether an estimated value obtained from conventional method and a correct value obtained from ideal conversion is identical. When those values are the same, the estimated value is not corrected; otherwise, according to the difference between those values, one is added or subtracted from the estimated value to obtain the correct result."

The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,191,200 on March 13.
