Though Crafts's work examines primarily industrialization in Britain, it still deserves consideration in a survey of the effect of technological change on economic growth. In addition, much of Lougheed's argument rests on ideas prevalent in the study of technological change before Peaceful Conquest, which seems to contradict the motivation of the collection.
