The biannual Health Ingredients Europe (HIE) exhibition and conference was held November 14-16, 2006, in Frankfurt, Germany. The 440 exhibitor booths welcomed over 9,000 preregistered participants, making this exhibition a most successful business event. Over 80 exhibitors came from China and are now presenting competitively priced ingredients to the European market.
The main topics considered were the prevention of obesity and diabetes, and cholesterol reduction by balanced diets. Realistic targets for market introduction of new healthy consumer foods, backed by strong scientific evidence, will be required to meet the scheduled 2007 European Union (EU) labeling regulation for Health and ...
