Article: SENATE APPROVES MAJOR PROPERTY TAX RELIEF PACKAGE

Minnesota State Sen. Rod Skoe, DFL-2nd District, issued the following news release:

On the first day of the 2007 Legislative Session, state Sen. Rod Skoe, DFL-Clearbrook, joined other senators to announce one of the session's top priorities: reducing property tax increases and restoring state aid to local governments. This week, senators followed up on that promise by approving a $400 million property tax relief package.

"Many of us heard from voters during last year's election that property tax increases are out of control," said Sen. Skoe, who chairs the Senate's Property Tax Division. "The Property Tax Relief package provides an opportunity to finally do something about it."
