Article: JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF MINK TO HAVE ST. PATRICK'S DAY DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE CHECKPOINTS

Jefferson County issued the following news release:

On Saturday, March 17th the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a mobile DUI Checkpoint in the southern area of the county. Statistics indicate that a high number of DUI arrests in Jefferson County occur in the general vicinity of the selected locations.

The checkpoints will begin at approximately 8 p.m. on March 17th and conclude at 3 a.m. on March 18th. These times were selected because 96 percent of all DUI arrests made by Jefferson County agencies take place during these hours. The checkpoint will be in one location for no more than 3 hours before moving to another spot.
