WASHINGTON, March 24 -- Rep. John Conyers Jr., D-Michigan, has introduced the Stevie Wonder Congressional Gold Medal Act (H.R. 1566), legislation that would "award a Congressional Gold Medal to Stevie Wonder, in recognition of his ground-breaking musical achievements, activism, and contributions to the music industry."
The bill, introduced on March 19, has 31 co-sponsors. It was referred to the House Financial Services Committee.
