As spring break travel continues, the Colorado Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to drive safely through construction zones, watch for wildlife near the highways, and take a break.

To enhance traveler safety and comfort during long trips, the Colorado Department of Transportation maintains some 36 rest areas on highways throughout the state. Rest areas at Fruita, Cortez, Trinidad and Julesburg include welcome centers (paid for with state tourism funds) staffed with friendly, knowledgeable city/county employees, as well as local volunteers.
